Raymond L. Wilcox
Raymond L. Wilcox of Welches died Sunday in a Portland- area hospital. He was 64.
Mr. Wilcox was born in Springwater and spent his entire life in Oregon. Most recently he worked as a brush cutter for the U.S. Forest Service.
He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving as a gunner's mate on the cruiser Boise. He was decorated with 10 bronze and two silver stars for his service. He was a member of the Sandy post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by three daughters, Susan Ballridge, Sharon Parnele and Nina Shafer, all of Gresham; a son, Gerald Wilcox of Gresham; three sisters, Alice Roberts of Oakridge, Doris Leavenworth of Molalla and Elnora Hemmers of Gresham; a brother, Kenneth Wilcox of Molalla; and four grandchildren.
At the request of Mr. Wilcox, no funeral will be held.
