J.N. (Nogi) Alexander, lifetime resident of the Cottonwood Point community, died Monday at a hospital in Memphis after an illness of several months. A ferry boat operator, Mr. Alexander was a veteran of World War I.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Cottonwood Methodist church with the Rev. Floyd Brower and the Rev. Marvin Niblack officiated.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nina Mae Alexander of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Dunn of Vinemont, Ala. and Mrs. Jane Brock of Cottonwood; a son, James P. Alexander of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Henry and Hubert Alexander; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Etta Duncan and Mrs. Velma Whitfield; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
