Memorial service for James Ray Blankenship, 55, of Hartselle, will be today, July 13, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 6 at the funeral home.
Ray, who died Friday, July 11, 20008, at Decatur General Hospital, was born Aug. 4, 1952, in Morgan County, Ala. He was an electrical, plumbing and HVAC contractor and owner of Blankenship Builders and Services. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He was preceded in death by his father, James Paul Blakenship.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Ray Blankenship; one son, James Paul Blankenship and wife, Britney, of Austin, Texas; his mother, Joyce Maples Blankenship of Hartselle; two brothers, Bobby Blankenship of Hartselle and Carl Blankenship of Somerville; one sister, Nancy Herring of Hartselle; one grandson, Hayden James Blankenship of Austin; and three stepgrandchildren, Jordan, Whitney and Dalton.
