Thomas P. Mills, 69, of Free Union, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born on May 10, 1940, to the late Percell and Dorothea Mills.

Thomas was educated in the Albemarle County School System and was self-employed in the lawn services business. He was also a member of Mount Amos Baptist Church in Free Union.

He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Thomas P. Mills Jr. and his wife, April; one daughter, Lucille M. Bland and her husband, Avery; four brothers, James, Elmo, Sidney and Bobby Jasper; seven sisters, Lillie May Jasper and her husband, Lindsey, Alberta Bell, Ida Jasper and her husband, Curtis, Clara Toland and her husband, Deacon Sidney Toland, Rose Smith and her husband, Larry, Ada Robinson, and Betty Ann Jasper; five grandchildren; special friends, Myrtle Tyree, Melvin Frye, and Simon Walker; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the J. F. Bell Funeral Home Chapel with minister Mark Mills delivering the Eulogy.
