Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Laurel Heights Baptist Church in Winnfield for Virgil Barton, 89, who died April 21, 1998 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. today and 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at the church.
He was the father of Martha Babin of Thibodaux; and brother of Charles Alvin Barton of Lafayette.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Barton; son Benny Barton; and sister, Ocea Roberts.
He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Laurel Heights Baptist Church.
