JAMES HARVEY ARMSTRONG was bron in MIDDLE, TN. 10-25-1820.
Son of JOHN ARMSTRONG and ANNA FARRIS

After moving to HAYWOOD County,TN. JOHN ARMSTRONG died and ANNA married JAMES GILLILAND

JAMES HARVEY ARMSTRONG 1st came to TX in 1839. Returned to TN, married JULIANN CLARK in TIPTON COUNTY on February 8,1842. They were the parents of 3 children.

Moved to Jackson County,Arkansas 1845.

After the death of his first wife, JAMES married ELIZABETH WINFREY in 1850. They were the parents of 2 daughters. Elizabeth died in 1853.

JAMES came to Texas in 1855 to visit his Mother and Sister.

JULY 10,1855 James married MARTHA COPPEDGE in COFFEEVILLE,TX. James and Martha were the parents of 11 children.

James was 41 when the CW broke out. He joined the 14th.TX INF. at PITTSBURG,TX. He served in CO F Randal's BDE.
