Son of Maynard Jesse TROUT (1912-1974) and Neva Mae SPELLMAN (1923-2000)

USMC Lance Corporal (LCpl) Michael Richard Trout was the son of Maynard Jesse Trout and Neva Mae Spellman of Portland, OR. He was a Marine Rifleman (MOS 0311), age 18, born November 10, 1949. He arrived in Vietnam December 5, 1967, and was assigned to Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division (Rein), III MAF, FMFPac. On September 19, 1968, LCpl Trout was wounded by hostile small arms fire.

Medivacted, LCpl Trout succumbed to his wounds and died on September 24, 1968. LCpl Trout had been in Vietnam 295 days. LCpl Trout is honored on the Vietnam Memorial at Panel 42W, Line 008.
