Mae Wattenbarger, 99, of Moore, OK, went to be with the Lord July 10, 2009. She was born April 13, 1910 to Edgar and Hulda Driver in Kemp, Texas. She always sent cards and wrote letters to all her friends and family. She loved life. Mae enjoyed cooking, flowers and gardening. Mae also loved to shop. She took in all the stray cats and fed them. She was a loving giver and was always giving things to others. Mae was a very positive person, always trying to encourage others. She would never leave the house without lipstick and earrings. She is survived by daughter, Martha Hornbeck; 2 grandchildren: Marla Hammons and husband John, Rebecca Walters and husband Brian; 6 great-grandchildren: John Kelsey Hammons, Casey Hammons, Caitlin Hammons, Christa Hammons, Alex Walters and Ashton Walters; 2 sisters: Thelma Miller and husband Warren, Jimmie Frazier; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by husband, William Taylor Wattenbarger; 1 grandson, Van Hornbeck; son-in-law, Harley Hornbeck; brother, Bill Driver, 2 sisters: Oddist Howard, Norma Salzman. Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Southern Hills Baptist Church, located at 8601 S. Penn, Oklahoma City, OK. Interment to follow at Sentinal Cemetery, Sentinal, OK. Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
