Four years after returning to England from Ireland, Honora died of consumption at six in the morning on 1 May 1780 at Bighterton, near Shifnal, surrounded by her husband, her youngest sister, Charlotte and a servant. Honora Sneyd Edgeworth was buried in the nearby St. Andrew's Church, at Weston-under-Lizard, where a plaque on the wall bears witness to her life.
