Obituary of Mrs. Jane E. Tool
Rev. John M. Tool, who has preached more funeral sermons in this Vicinity than any body else, and who has been a great sympathizer and comfort, and was the chief mourner at the funeral of his beloved companion, with for over 45 years. Mrs Tool's death occurred Feb. 22nd, 1899. She had reached the age of 65 years and 9 months. She was a noble type of womanhood, a woman of wonderful kindness and patience, and a great lovable home woman. Her home and church represented her haven on earth. The entire community sympathizes with Bro. Tool in his deep affliction.
The funeral services took place in the M.E. Church Friday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. The choir rendered excellent music. Rev. Mills of the Baptist church, offered prayer, Rev. Gibson of the U.P. church, read the scripture, and Rev. Helmick, of the M.E. church read the obituary and preached an appropriate sermon for Rev.7:13, 14, after which the remains were laid to rest in Monroe's cemetery.
