Mrs. Stephens Dies in Roanoke Hospital Sunday.
News of the death of Mrs. M. R. Stephens, of the Pleasant Hill community in the northern part of the county, which occurred in a Roanoke hospital early Sunday morning, reached this city early this week. Mrs. Stephens had been ill and confined to the hospital for the past six weeks, where it was though on several occasions that she would regain her health.
Funeral service was held Tuesday morning of this week from the Mount Pisgah Church, with officiating minister Rev. B. R. Layton, pastor of the deceased at Pleasant Hill Church, where the deceased was a member. Interment was in the Mount Pisgah Cemetery Tuesday morning.
Surviving the deceased are a husband and five children, W. R. and Kenon Stephens, Waco, Texas; V. H. Stephens, Stroud; Mrs. B. L. Pearson, Stroud, and Mrs. B. C. Goodwin, Stroud.
