Trudie- Mrs. Jessie Iler Strickland Eldridge "Nanny", 93, of Trudie passed away early Wednesday morning (April 20, 2011) at her residence surrounded by her family and friends after an extended illness.
Born in Trudie, GA her parents were Joseph "Joe "Henry and Sidney Moody Strickland. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John W. "Johnnie" Eldridge and several brothers and sisters, Mary Dupriest, Gifford "Bud" Strickland, Rena Bohannon, Alma Moody, Alberta Strickland and Walter Strickland.
Jessie affectionately known as "Nanny" was a homemaker and a charter member of Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church. Also she enjoyed being with her family, fishing and animals.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Johnny Faye & Larry R. Rowell of Trudie; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Sidney & Tim Crawford of Patterson and Andy & Tonia Rowell of Thomasville, GA; 8 great grandchildren, Kayla Bowick, Kacie Bowick, Brandon Crawford, Tatum Crawford(Kelsey), Mattie Crawford, A. J. Rowell, Layton Rowell and Emberlynn Rowell; a great great granddaughter, Allison Dinkins; and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening (April 21, 2011) from 6-9PM at her residence 759 Eldridge Rd Patterson, GA 31557.
A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (April 22, 2011) at 2PM at Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Rowell and Rev. Terry Jackson officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andy Rowell, AJ Rowell, Layton Rowell, Dustin Stewart, David Jordan, Michael Hensley, Brandon Crawford, Tatum Crawford, Tyler Shoemaker and Jon Tussey.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
