William Glen Potter, 82, of Newman died Wednesday at his home.

Mr. Potter was a native of Caruthersville, Mo. He lived in Newman 20 years. He was a locksmith at Agnew State Hospital for 13 years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Porterville, the Moose Lodge and the International Order of Odd Fellows.

He is survived by his wife, Callie Irene Potter of Newman; children, Harvey Whitson of Modesto, Janet Varela of San Jose and Pamela Sarazen of Marina; brother, Albert W. Potter of San Jose; sisters, Agnes Sullivan of Acampo, Martha Casey of Ridgecrest and Linda Milsap of Riverton, Utah; and 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman. Burial at Hills Ferry Cemetery. Visitation from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel.

Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1604 Ford Ave., Suite 8, Modesto 95350; or Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Modesto 95350.
