Susannah came from a large family, she had six brothers and six sisters. Susannah's family came to Randolph County, Indiana in 1816. Her father, Hugh, was a farmer and a tanner and a prominent and respected citizen of Randolph county. Susannah married Jonathon Hollingsworth, son of Joseph Hollingsworth and Sarah Cox, on November 11, 1824 in Randolph County, Indiana. Together they had ten children: Rachel, Sarah, Mary, Elisa, Nancy, Jane, George, Henry, Hugh and Rinaldo.
Sometime between 1830 and 1840 Jonathon and Susannah brought their family to Pike Township, Marion County.
