Rachel Larson Kerr was born in Millville, the daughter of Alma Oscar and May Baker Larson.

She worked on the family farm until she was nineteen. She was then employed in various jobs until 1942 when she began work in California at the Marin Ship Yards helping to build tankers during World War II.

On November 10, 1945, Rachel was married to Thomas Glen Kerr in the Logan Temple. Thomas was born on May 3, 1912 in Logan, Utah, the son of Thomas Leishman Kerr and Mary Elizabeth Shaw.

He was employed by the US Government for thirty-seven years. They lived in many areas of the Western United States and for nearly six years in Japan. They returned to Cache Valley, and Glen spent seven years working in the Comptroller's Office at Utah State University.

Rachel and Glen held numerous LDS Church positions during their travels, working in the auxiliaries and as Temple Workers.

Their children are: Thomas Glen, Jon Alma, Mary Rae Kerr Wilson and David Samuel Kerr. Rachel was also the stepmother of Carolyn K. Simpson and Geraldine Leigh.
