Alexander Jefferson “AJ” DeShon, 87, of Lawson, Mo., passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Liberty Hospital. AJ was born June 20, 1932 in King City, Mo.

A graduate of Kearney High School, AJ married the love of his life, Patty McQuerrey. Married 66 years, AJ and Patty raised a family together in the Arley and Kearney area. AJ was a founder and operator of Spray Away Pest Service. He was also an award winning wood carver of custom walking sticks and canes.

AJ joins his beloved daughter, Patsy, in the presence of the Lord.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patty, and sons, Donald (and Anita), Ron (and Kim), Rick (and Gayle) and Mike (and Sue). AJ was the prankster grandfather to 12, great-grandfather to 18, and even great-great grandfather to one.

A memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo.

The family requests that all donations go to the Arley Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
