Andrew was a son of James and Sarah "Sallie" Gay Bridger. He married twice: first to Nancy Ellen Wharton 18 Sep 1862 in Cedar Co., Iowa and second to Ellenor (Nellie May) C. Snider (Snyder) on
19 July 1877 in Daviess Co., MO.

Andrew and Nellie were the parents of 3 known children:
May (Minnie)Bridger
Nora Jane Bridger
Oscar Wood Bridger
He was a farmer and also worked on a railroad.

Andrew Bridger was a veteran of the Civil War. He fought with Company E in the 11th Iowa Infantry.
U.S., Adjutant General Military Records, 1631-1976:
11th Iowa Volunteer Regiment - Andrew was part of the siege of Atlanta as well as Sherman's march to the sea. He mustered in on 3/3/1864 and out on 5/26/1865 due to disability.
