John M. Kercher, for some years a watchman at the Bon Ton department store, died on Sunday evening at his home No. 624 Canal street, a victim of heart trouble after an illness of about one week. The late Mr. Kercher was aged 65 years, 11 months and 27 days and belonged to St. Mark’s Reformed church. He was well know throughout the city and was particularly popular among the clerks at the Bon Ton where he was always ready with a helping had to do a good turn. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Maria Kercher, and a number of sons and daughters as follows; Harry Kercher, Palmyra; Mrs. John Strayer, this city; Selon, Reading; Aaron, Herbert, and Mrs. James Ratherson, this city. Eduard Kercher, of East Reinoehlsville, is a brother, as is also Harry Kercher of this city, Mrs. Charles Boyer is a sister. [Evening Report (Lebanon, Pennsylvania)
