Gladys Patridge, 92, Wessington, South Dakota, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
Gladys Lucille Spinner was born December 30, 1908 to William and Millie (Banning) Spinner in Canistota, S.D. She moved with her parents to the St. Lawrence and Miller area. She was a graduate of Miller High School.
She married Floyd Hiram Patridge April 12, 1931 in Wessington, where they were long-time residents. They owned and operated the Rose Bowl Cafe and Coffee Shop until purchasing the Sunset Bar, from which they retired in September 1969. Gladys was well known in the community for her cooking talents.
She is survived by one daughter, Dolores Siegling of Wessington; one son, Marlin (Janis) Patridge of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren, David (Kathy) Siegling of Wessington, Darla (Sam) Lukens of Sioux Falls, Dennis (Dawn) Siegling of Blue Earth, Minn., Dawn Siegling of Lakeville, Minn., LeAnn Patridge of Wessington, Sheri Adasczik, Kevin (Lisa) Patridge, Michael (Kim) Patridge, all of Las Vegas, Nev.; 19 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Patridge of Huron; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, on February 10, 1971; her parents; two sisters, Florence McCarthy and Mabel Carlisle; two brothers-in-law, Jack McCarthy and Joseph Carlisle; one brother, Earl Spinner; one sister-in-law, Kathleen (Tranter) Spinner; and one son-in-law, Darrell Siegling.
Funeral: Nov. 1, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington, with the Rev. Allen Sager officiating.
Burial: Wessington Cemetery.
