Annie Lee Dizard Essex Pabst, 102, of Burnet passed away Monday, June 29 in a Burnet nursing home. Mrs. Pabst was born in Clyde, Texas, on Oct. 10, 1906, to Edward Walter and Ollie James Dizard. She was married to Fred Pabst who preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; a brother; two sons, Edward Essex and Freddie Pabst; one daughter, Billie Jo Essex Tribble; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her daughters; Bettie Essex Roberts and husband Nicholas and Nadine Pabst Wiley and husband Thomas of Cameron, Texas; son, Eldon Essex and wife Dorothy of Fort Worth; 20 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and four nieces and a nephew.

Mrs. Pabst was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and member of the congregation that meets on Vanderveer Street in Burnet until declining health prevented attending. Mrs. Pabst was known by her family and friends as having a rich sense of humor, and even in her waning years, she enjoyed a good joke with a resulting sly little grin that endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. Throughout her life she had a real love for children, especially babies. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Pabst's visitation and viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, and the family invites all to join in celebrating her life at her funeral which will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 2 at the Edgar Funeral Home Chapel in Burnet. Burial will follow at the Burnet Cemetery. Brother Darrell Debo with be officiating at the funeral and gravesite. Grandsons Elton Wayne Johnson, Stephen Dennis Johnson and Gary Don Pabst, and great-grandsons, Jason Sparks, Bradley Payne and Brandon Scarborough will serve as pallbearers.
