Aaron Manly was born Feb. 13, 1857 at Sulphur Springs, Mo. From there he moved to Ironton Mo., where he was married to Mrs. Mary Tiley, Sept. 18, 1890. In 1895 he moved to Carbon, Ill., where he resided until 1901 when he moved to Collinsville where he lived at the time of his death.

The deceased is survived by his wife and five children, Charles, Fannie, Lavinia, Robert and Ethel, also four step children, John, George, Martha, and Mary Tiley, and many other relatives and friends. He was a member of the A. O. U. W. No. 406 of Collinsville Ill. and also of the L. U. No. 848 of U. M. W. A. of Donkville, Ill.

He died Sept 29th, at 9:30 a.m aged 47 years, 7 months and 16 days.

The funeral was conducted at the M. E, Church of O'Fallon, Saturday afternoon by Rev. James McGriffin from the text, "Boast not thyself of to-morrow for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." - Proverbs 27 1

Interment took place at the Tiedemann Cemetery.

NOTES: Aaron was the second of four children born to the union of Martin V. Manly and Eliza Watson, who married on February 5, 1854 in Jefferson County, MO. He married his first wife, Elizabeth Sweeney on December 31, 1876 in Iron Mountain, MO. She died in 1886 leaving him with two children. He married his second wife, Mrs. Mary Tiley on April 18, 1891 in Iron County, MO. The date given in the obituary above is erroneous.
