The death angels visited the home of Mrs. Mary Shacklett Tuesday night at 9:20 o'clock and claimed for it's victim her beloved husband. Blancet G. Shacklett was born February 12, 1851, and died March 5, 1907 aged 56 years and twenty-one days. He was married October 2, 1873 to Mary Sipes. To that union were born eleven children; seven boys and four girls. He bore the dreaded desease consumption, with patience, notwithstanding his suffering which some time was intense, until our Saviour relieved him of his pain and suffering and took him to his bright eternal home in glory where no pain and death will ever come and where disappointment and separations are unknown. He leaves a wife, four sons and three daughters besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Let us so live that when we are called we may be ready. Yes, ready to join ones loved ones in that bright and sunny land where we can be with Christ and the redeemed ones forever.
Dear Uncle Blant we do so sadly miss you here,
Twas not our will to give you up,
And drink so soon this bitter cup.
But Jesus called you as His own, Hence we must say, His will be done.

Husband of Mary Priscilla "Mollie" Sipes, married 9-25-1873, marriage record does not agree with marriage date in his obituary. Father of Daniel W., John T., Ida Belle, Thomas K., Sophia Roberta, Frances May, Charles, James, Nannie
Elizabeth, Jacob, and Joseph Shacklett. In the will written by Blancit Gilbert Shacklett, 1-12-1907, he requested that 50 acres, on the NE side, of his farm be sold to pay for his funeral, at his time of death, and his deceased daughter Roberta's funeral. Does anyone know when Roberta died? I can not find a death record. She's listed in the 1900 Meade County, KY., Census as Sofa R. Shacklett born August 31, 1884. Since he was so worried about her, I would love to find her and link her to him. Please help.
