POCATELLO, Idaho - Merry Jane Lyon, 43, former Treasureton resident, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2002, in Pocatello after a courageous fight with Huntington's disease.
She was born March 28, 1959, in Logan, the youngest of six children of Allen William Lyon and Wrena Carver of Treasureton. After graduation from Preston High School, she attended Brigham Young University. Merry moved to Omaha, Neb., and worked for Mutual of Omaha for many years as an executive secretary. There she met and married Ross Carrmack. They were later divorced.

She enjoyed reading, collecting books, listening to music, playing the piano, sewing clothes and jogging. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Allen (Ardell) Lyon of Treasureton; sisters and brother, Gwen (Oran) Vance of American Fork, Ross (DeAnn) Lyon of Treasureton, Peggy (Sherman) Wright of Thatcher, Idaho, and Janet (Larry) Walters of Cascade, Idaho; stepbrothers and sister, Demar (Kenda) Merrill of Pioneer, Calif.; Melody (Brad) Del Torto of Reno, Nev.; and Rahn Merrill of Reno, Nev.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother; by a sister, Renee; and by a nephew, Allen.

Merry's life changed dramatically when she became ill with Huntington's. The family would like to give our gratitude to the many people, family, and friends that touched her life and helped Merry endure to the end.

To the doctors, nurses, workers, counselors, caregivers at Ridge Wind Assisted Living and Portneuf Valley Hospital, anyone that touched her life, we thank you.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 15, 2002, at noon in the Riverdale Ward Chapel with Bishop Sam Smith conducting. Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Treasureton Cemetery. Arrangements are by Webb Funeral Home, Preston.
