Eldest son of Sion Jonathan Lawson and his second wife, Amanda Myra Williams Lawson, Augustus married Sarah Elizabeth Roper (1863 - 1933) on Sept 12, 1878 in Dawson County GA.

They lived in Cherokee County GA near Ball Ground and had four children:

Marion Francis Lawson (1878 - 1962)
John Wesley Lawson (1882 - 1959) - My paternal grandfather
Alfred Elijah Lawson (1884 - 1964)
James S. Lawson (1888 - 1963)

Broken headstone was repaired and cleaned in 2010.
