Alexander Galloway was first associated with the brown Brothers Tobacco Company, then with R. J. Reynolds Tobacco. He later was associated with the Wachovia Bank, and was a partner in Galloway and Jenkins Insurance Agency. Later still, he was manager of the Carolina and Zinzendorf Hotels.
Mr. Galloway was a member of the Board of Stewards of the Centinary Methodist Church, president of the Chamber of Commerce, a charter member of the Winston-Salem Rotary Club, and trustee of the Twin City Hospital.
Alexander and Mamie Gray Galloway had two sons, James Bowman Galloway (15 April 1906-18 Dec. 1943) and Alexander Henderson Galloway III (27 Dec. 1907-11 June 1982, m. Martha Bull Erckman).
Mr. Galloway was killed in an automobile accident on the Greensboro-Winston-Salem highway, in Guilford County.
