Born in Monroe Co., KY ca 1843 to Radford and Ellender Creek. Moved with his family to Dallas County, MO at an early age. Joined Co. B, 24th MO Infantry Rgt. in Rolla, MO, Oct 14, 1861. Became ill Feb. 1, 1864 in Vicksburg, Mississippi then returned to MO and was hospitalized. On February 28, 1864 he died of "chronic diarrhea" and was buried on Arsenal Island, later moved to Jefferson Barracks. He held the rank of Sgt. His father had died earlier, he was the oldest son and Ellender recieved a pension from the government after his death.
