Funeral services were held here Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Helen Block, an early resident of this community, who died Sunday evening at Ward Memorial Hospital in Primghar. Mrs. Block had lived a great deal of her life in San Francisco, California. She had suffered a stroke in October of last year and been hospitalized until she came here in late February to live with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ina Dornbusch. March 16 she entered the hospital at Primghar where she died Sunday. She was 66.
Funeral services were held at the Gaudian Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Paul Sohn officiating.
Music was by Mrs. Marvin Fintel, accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Hibbing. She sang "Abide with Me" and "Be Still My Soul".
Arrangements were by Gaudian Funeral Home.
Interment is to be in Golden Gate Cemetery, San Francisco, California, following a service Friday afternoon at McAvoy-O'Hara Funeral Home, there.
Mrs. Block is survived by a sister and three brothers, all of Paullina. They are Mrs. Ina Dornbusch, Fred, Ernest and William Voss.
