Raymond Berg, known as "Ray," died at the age of 83, at his current home at the Hawley Senior Living Center in Hawley, Minnesota. He was under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. He was the son of Julia (Skeim) Berg and John Berg. He was raised in the Ulen-Twin Valley area of Minnesota. There he attended school and worked on the family farm. He entered the Army during World War II., serving over in Japan. After his discharge, he returned to the family farm. Raymond moved to Hillsboro, North Dakota, in February, 1966. He married Barbara Power on March 19th, 1966, in Hawley, Minnesota.In Hillsboro, North Dakota, he worked for vthe Farmers Union Oil Company as a Tire Foreman for 22 years. He retired in April of 1987. After retirement he worked part-time for the Hillsboro Park Board, the Traill County Water Board, and Olsen's Hardware. He loved going for walks and speaking Norwegian. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and John Berg, and his wife of 36 years, Barbara Berg, three brothers, Elmer Berg, Odin Berg, and Harvey Berg, and a sister, Evelyn Berg. He is survived by: Three daughters, Sharlene Rohrich of Moorhead, Minnesota, Sherry Ford of West Fargo, North Dakota, and StacyBauer of Bismarck, North Dakota, plus one son, Steve Berg of Jamestown, North Dakota, 6 grandchildren, a sister, Gladys Bentley of Hawley, Minnesota, and a brother, Judien Berg of Hawley, Minnesota.
