Dr. Moyer acquired his early education in the public schools and at Union Seminary in New Berlin, Union Co. He taught school until he was 23 and then entered Baltimore University School of Medicine where he graduated in 1893 as valedictorian.
He began his medical practice in Hartleton, Union Co. where he also operated a drug store. in 1899 he and his wife came to Lincoln.
He was a fellow of the AMA, member of the Missouri Valley Medical Society and Lancaster County Medical Society. He was secretary of the faculty and professor of obstetrics at Nebraska College of Medicine until 1908. He served as president of the staff at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner and a member of IOOF.
