'Thomas Blake5 Skolfield (Benjamin4, Jacob3, Thomas2, Thomas') was born 6 April 1853 in Brunswick, Maine; married, first, Emma Frances Wooster, daughter of
Hiram Emery Wooster and Mary (McRae or Winchell), on
7 November 1876 in East Boston, Massachusetts; married, second, Katherine Benjamin Stanwood, daughter of William Stanwood and Harriet Eliza Reed, on 28 November 1900 in Brunswick, Maine, by the Rev. F. S. Todd, pastor of
the Baptist Church, at the parsonage. Thomas died 22 January 1909 in Brunswick, Maine, and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick. Thomas B. Skolfield studied under the Rev. Elijah Kellogg at the Academy in Harpswell which he reached by rowing the mile across the bay
from Mere Point, part of the year, and in winter, by walking across the ice. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Brunswick.
His obituary, dated 22 January 1909:
Thomas B. Skolfield Dead: Selectman of Brunswick, MA, and Former Boston Business Man Succumbs to Bright's Disease
Thomas B. Skolfield, who was serving his fourth term as a member of the board of selectmen, died quite suddenly this morning after an illness of several weeks with Bright's disease. Mr. Skolfield was born in Brunswick in 1853 and has lived most of his life in this town, but for 15 years was in business in Boston. He first served on the board of selectmen in 1891 and 1892. He was reelected in 1907 and 1908. He was a past master of Dirigo grange and a member of Pejepscot Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of this town. He was twice married and is survived by a wife and three children, a daughter, Mrs. L. Winfield Smith, by his first wife and a daughter, Eleanor, and a son, William Stanwood, by his second wife. Mr. Skolfield was one of the most prosperous farmers in Brunswick and owned a large farm at Mere Point. This farm was purchased from his uncle William Stanwood Skolfield and was one-quarter mile below sister Ann's. Lewis Winfield Smith, husband of Thomas's daughter Edith bought the farm later from Thomas' second wife Kate. William Stanwood Skolfield and wife, Amelia, inherited the land after Winfield Smith's death. Emma Frances Wooster was born 11 September 1854 in Eastport, Maine; died 7 February 1895 at Mere Point, Maine, and was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Brunswick.

19 September 1889 in New Haven, Connecticut. They were married 10 September 1939 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The marriage was entered in Brunswick, Maine, records. He died 7 June 1961 in Brunswick, Maine, and his ashes were scattered at sea. Thomas Means had a daughter, Patricia, by his first marriage who married Theodor R. Castle of San
Francisco, California, in 1954.
