Joseph Moosburger was born on January 4, 1862 in Frichlkofen, Niederbayern, Germany. He arrived on the SS Frankfurt from Bremen to Galveston on July 31, 1903, and went to Tours, McLennan Co., Texas where he met and married Katherine Vogel. Katherine Vogel was born in Lanzenhaar, Bavaria and her parents were John and Katherine Vogel. Katherine Vogel/Vogl, 21 arrived in Galveston on 25 April 1904 on the SS Frankfurt. She listed Munchen as her home in Bavaria. Her mother, Katharina Vogl, 49, was traveling with her to the same destination of Waco, Texas.

The 1910 McLennan County Texas Census Index, Published in Fall 1984 by McLennan County Genealogy Society, compiled by John M. Usry - Ref. # RG 976.4284 U., lists Joe Masberger, head of household, age 48 and born in Germany; Katie, wife, age 26 and born in Germany, along with Alois, son age 5, born in Texas, Mary, daughter age 3, born in Texas and George, son age 11/12, born in Texas. They are listed as household #248 in Leroy Precenct 8. This would confirm that Joseph Moosburger was born in about 1862.

Joseph and Katherine Vogel Moosburger had four children that we know of. They were: Alois John Moosburger born 14 Jun 1905, Maria Katherine Moosburger born 26 Oct 1906, Joseph George Moosburger born 28 Mar 1908, and George Moosburger born 11 Jun 1909. All were born in Tours, Texas.

Joseph's son, Joseph George Moosburger, died on 15 Sep 1908 in Tours, McLennan Co., Texas. His wife, Katherine Vogel Moosburger, died on 11 Jan 1911 in Tours, McLennan Co., Texas. George Moosburger died 11 Nov 1914 in Tours, Texas.

Some time between 1914 and 1920 Joseph and his son, Alois, moved to Lindsay, Cooke Co., Texas.

The 1920 Cooke County Texas Census lists Joseph Moosburger, age 58 and Ellis (Alois) Moosburger, age 15. According to the 1920 Census for McLennan Co., Texas there was a Mary Moosburger listed as an orphan and living with Henry Strohmeier and Annie Strohmeier in Justice Precinct 3 (Tours, Texas).

The 1930 Cooke County Texas Census lists a Joseph Moosburger, Age 68 in Precinct 1, Cooke County, Texas. Also listed are Aloysius Moosburger, Age 24-son.
