Mrs. Ada Moore Smith, 63, wife of City Magistrate G. Elvis Smith died Monday morning at 7 o'clock at her home in the House Apartments on Locust Street after a long illness. Mrs. Smith had been ill for the past year and death had been imminent for several days.

Born and reared at Lamont in East Robertson County, Mrs. Smith was a member of a prominent family, being the daughter of the late Dr. J. E. Moore, prominent physician. She had resided for the past thirty years in Springfield.

Survivors besides her husband are a son Fred M. Smith of Springfield; three brothers, Dr. R. D. Moore, physician and city health officer of Springfield, Ben Moore of Springfield and Prof M. H. Moore, Superintendent of City School s at Beaumont,Texas; and a sister, Mrs. W. C. House of Springfield.

Funeral services were conducted from the Church of the Nazarene of which the deceased was a member, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The pastor, the Rev. J. D. Saxon, officiated, assisted by the Rev. W. F. Shannon of Springfield; Dr. T. C. Ragsdale, pastor of the Springfield First Methodist Church; and Dr. L. S. Ewton, pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Nashville. Interment followed in Elmwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Active - Dr. W. W. Porter, L. E. Cobbs, White McGlanahan, Nat G. Langford, Judge Byron Johnson, and Allen L. Jett. Honorary – Bob Hooper, Herbert Shannon, Will Sprouse, Frank Rose, Tom Holman, Latimer Ryan, John C. Pope, A. Frank Trimble, Redmond Binkley, Luther Davis, Robert H. Bell, Ed Sprouse, George H. Lawrence, Polk Young, Rayburn Qualls, Forest Long, Dr. W.B. Dye, Howard B. Smith, Hugh R Head, and Bryant Murphy.
