William "Billy" Kermit Bryan was a career Postal Employee with the Jacksonville Post Office and was the Rural Mail Carrier for Rural Route 2 at the time of his death. This route included the Kellum, Piney Green, Pumpkin Center and Midway Park areas of Onslow County. Billy was killed while delivering mail, by a driver traveling in the wrong direction on Highway 17 North, in front of the Weyerhauser Plywood Plant.
Billy was married to Betty Lou Huffman, formerly of Richlands. They had four children, Ava Darlene, Keith Bradley, Sheila Gay, and Carla Maria
