Mrs. Hesler, who was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William McGraw, was born in Fayette County, Ind., November 25, 1817. On January 28, 1847, she was united in marriage to James Hesler, who departed this life May 13, 1894. Shortly after their marriage they removed to Putnam county, where they resided until October, 1849, when they removed to Wells county. In 1871 they took up their residence near Zanesville, this county, where she resided until death.
At the age of 21 Mrs. Hesler united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Robison [Robinson] chapel in Fayette county, and remained a faithful and consistent member of this church until March 8, 1887, when the organization was dissolved. Mrs. Helser then received her letter, but never placed it with any other congregation. Mrs. Hesler was the mother of eight children, of whom three survive-George F. Hesler, John W.
