Andrew Clifford Brummett, 51, local barber and employe of the White Way Shop, died suddenly Saturday night about 1 o'clock, at his home at 204 East Seventh street, while sitting up with his wife, Mrs. Helen Rice Burmmett, who has been ill recently. Mr. Brummett worked Saturday and apparently was feeling well, until about supper time he complained of what was thought a digestive disorder and he did not return to the shop after going home to supper.

At that time he did not seem alarmingly ill, but about midnight his suffering grew worse and a doctor was summoned but he expired shortly before the doctor arrived. His death was probably due to a heart attack, brought about by indigestion.

Deceased was the son of James Allen and Victoria Virginia Brummett and was born August 15, 1885, at Knoxville, Tenn., the family shortly removing to Lonoke county, Ark., where he lived for many years. He was married to Miss Misa Hickman, December, 18, 1904, and later to Miss Helen Rice, on November 21, 1926. He was the father of three children, Jean, Katherine and Barbara Dean Brummett, all of Caruthersville.

Deceased and his family moved to Caruthersville in 1928, where he was employed at various barber shops from time to time.

Funeral services were held at the Smith Funeral Home this morning, attended by many of the family's friends and relatives, and was conducted by the Rev. Wayne W. Gray, pastor of the Presbyterian Church.

In addition to the immediate family Mr. Brummett is survived by one brother, John C. Brummett, a sister, Mrs. Nina Dill, and a half-brother and half-sister, Charles Burkett and Mrs. Emma Roach, all of Lonoke, Ark.

Among those attending the funeral were Messrs. John C. Brummett, A.C. Dill, Allen Brummett, Archibald Brummett, Rudolph Brummett and Raymond Brummett and Mrs. Nina Dill, all of Lonoke, Ark., his relatives, and several of his wife's relatives, including Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Rice, her parents, Mrs. Mary Dobbs, Raymond Rice and Harlan Joslin, all of Fairfield, Ill.
Interment was in Maple Cemetery.
