SAM BLAKEMORE SERVICES HELD

Services for Sam West Blakemore, 72, Stilwell, were held Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Cheatham and the Rev. Donnie Crittendon officiating. Interment was in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.

He was born June 1, 1917 in Stilwell to Clarence W. Blakemore and Sara Kennie West Blakemore. He died Thursday in Tulsa. He was a retired farmer and a lifetime resident of Stilwell. He was married to Wanda Willyard on Oct. 25, 1942 in Sand Springs. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a great grandson, Michael Allen Campbell.

He is survived by: his wife, Wanda, of the home; three daughters, Glenda McCollum and Kinny Davis, both of Tahlequah, and Shirley Auffet, Stilwell; his step-mother, Madalynn Blakemore, Stilwell; three brothers, McClure Blakemore and Clarence Wilson Blakemore, Jr. both of Stilwell and Jack Wade, Arizona, Mary Maud Thomason and Peggy Pettigrew, both of Broken Arrow; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one aunt, Mary Crozier, Stilwell; and several nieces and nephews.
