Mr. Bell was born in Campbell County, Kentucky, February 26, 1870, the son of Jefferson and Amanda Bell. In 1900 he was married to Estel Cates in Kentucky and the family moved to their present home near Swift 39 years ago. He died February 15, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.S. Sorrell, on Route 2, Portageville, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 19 days.
He is survived by one son, Harry Bell of Hayti, Route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Sorrell and Mrs. Halley Arant of St. Joseph, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Cora Smith, living in Florida; one brother, Thomas Bell of Livermore, Kentucky; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Interment was in Little Prairie Cemetery, this city, with H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
