Thomas F. Piper, 79, of Stockton died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, in a hospital. He was born Oct. 24, 1922, and was a lifelong Stockton resident. Piper worked for Maxwell Motor Supply as a parts man and later he worked for Kinser Motor Supply. He worked for King Bearing as a manager and retired from Orange Bearing in the late 1980s. Piper served in the Marine Corps during World War II and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion Karl Ross Post 16, Disabled American Veterans, Peat Dusters Dance Club and Amblers Club.
Survivors: wife, Arlene Piper of Stockton; sons, Tom Piper, Steven Piper and Gary Piper, all of Stockton; sisters, Jane Scott of Modesto and Sally Leighton of Salinas; and five grandchildren. Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Monday, Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park, East Harney Lane and Highway 99, Lodi. Visitation: none. Mortuary: Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home.
