The death of Ross Alley of Cascade is deeply regretted by many friends of the deceased. He came to Montana early in the sixties and for a long time has been a resident of Chestnut Valley. He was one of the "characters" of the valley. His relatives live at Ross, W. Va., and are well to do.
The Great Falls Leader (MT), 7 Nov 1889
Cascade, Nov. 6--Ross Alley, a noted old timer, died here last evening. He had been unwell for a short time, but ate a hearty supper, after which he expressed himself as feeling better. In less than a half hour he passed away. He came to Montana in 1859 and was 60 years of age. His relatives are said to reside in Virginia and are of the first families.
