Clara Litton Acres, 94, formerly of Oneida, passed away in Belmont, Calif. Sunday, March 6, 1988. She was the wife of the late A. V. Acres and was the daughter of the late Ewell and Elizabeth Ann Rosser Litton. She had moved to Belmont eight years ago to live with her son and daughter-in-law, John and Irene Acres and prior to that time had lived in Oneida, Louisville, Ky., and Kilgore, Tex. She was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., and was also a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Oneida. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three children: Doris Jeanne Acres Jackson, Blaine Acres and Thomas Kern Acres. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, John C. and Irene Acres of Belmont, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Olga and Thad Goodwin of Hemet, Calif.; daughter-in-law Mrs. Blaine (Marion) Acres; son-in-law, Bill Jackson; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. Memorial and burial services were held Sunday, June 12 at 5 p.m. at the Litton Cemetery in Oneida, with Rev. Dale Smith officiating. Jones and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
