8. Obituary.
Jemima E. Menza was born September 26, 1840 in Marion, Ohio. In 1858 she was united in marriage to Samuel Counterman of Ohio. They came to Michigan about 1865, where she has lived until her death. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wilson Austin, December 21, 1925, at the age of 85 years, two months and 26 days.
Nine children were born, four them are dead. The living are, Charles of Benton Harbor, Henry of Grand Rapids, Daniel of Wells, Mich., Joseph of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Bertha Austin of Bangor.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Foster Fuller, Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter. Burial was made in the Austin cemetery.
