Nobert (Noberto) was one of six children born to David and Margareta Archibeque of Sandoval County New Mexico. The family lived in San Felipe, Algodones and Bernalillo New Mexico. He attended school through the fourth grade and worked as a laborer. He was not married and there were no dependents.
Norbert joined the army in 1943 with the rank of Private. He was assigned to the 4th Guard Company at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana. He was in the USDB (United States Disciplinary Barracks). On 31 July 1945 during a swimming party at a gravel mine near the camp Norbert drowned. There was an inquest, and his death was ruled an accident
