** edit request-- His parents are Joshua Hipsley (1751-1832) and Elizabeth Goodman (1759-1827). They are listed in the Hipsley family Bible of their grandson Joseph Goodman Hipsley and his wife Thirza Brown. they were both born in Baltimore (probably county, not city) Maryland. They probably died in Maryland,but I have no proof of that

** edit request: Joshua and Elizabeth Wilson Hipsley had one more son, Amos Hipsley, born 26 Feb 1818 in Maryland, died 18 Dec 1886 in Morton Township, Page County, Iowa. I have been unable to locate a FAG memorial for him.
