Rites held - Military funeral services for Capt. James Lowell Bell (41) who died in Okayama, Japan, Nov 24, of injuries incurred in a train accident there, were held Monday afternoon in Taxahaw, SC.
Capt. Bell was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Bell of Columbus, Miss., where he was born and regarded. After graduating from Mississippi State College he enlisted in the Army and had served for nineteen years. Capt Bell was with the organized Reserved Corps of Charlotte for more than five years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lucille Cook Bell; a son, James Lowell Bell Jr., of Taxahaw; three sisters, and a brother of Columbus, Miss.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. J.B Caston, pastor of the First Baptist church of Camden, SC.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Cook. The groom is the son of T.N. Bell and the late Mrs. Bell of Columbus, Miss. he is a graduate of Mississippi State College and is now connected with the War department.
