Mrs. Evelyn Allen Crews Jones 83, of 901 Bethesda Road, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2001, at The Oaks of Forsyth.
She was born on July 20, 1918, in Harnett County, a daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret Allen.
She was a member of Linwille Forest Church of Christ for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Jones, in 1980. Surviving are four daughters, Pat Hancock, of San Antonio, Texas, Rachel Solomon, of Kernersville, Brenda Pool, of Mocksville, and Bobby Jean Beard of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Margaret Holland and Flannie Thompson, both of Sanford; eight grandchildren, Rena Hancock Taylor, of Dallas Texas, Mark Hancock, of Mito, Japan, Holy Solomon Barrett, of Greensboro, Carla Ann Hancock Holbrook, of San Antonio, Texas, Damon Lee Solomon, of Cary, Jason Beard and Jimmy Beard of Winston-Salem and Nicole Pool Isley of Clemmons; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 12 noon Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Chapel, Kernersville. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
