Our Heavenly Father loves his daughters. Dorothy was a shining star among us all and will always be in our hearts until me meet again.

Dorothy passed away on Wednesday April 11, 2007 at her home in Fairfield, California.

Dorothy Marie Casner Elliott was born October 28, 1938 in Camp Verde, Arizona. She was the third and last child born to Marjorie and Alvin Casner. Edward and Howard Casner are her two brothers.

Dorothy and her husband, Douglas Elliott, were married in Fairfield, California in November of 1955. They met when he was stationed at Travis Air Force Base. Dorothy and Doug were married for fifty-one years. To this union three children were born and two daughters adopted. Their names are: James , Raymond , who passed away in 1997, Tina , Mandy and Colleen. There are nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Dorothy graduated from Armijo High School. She was very talented in making silver jewelry. I treasure a necklace that she gave me many years ago. Dorothy was more of a sister to me than a niece. She was ten months older than I. During World War II my mother and I lived next door to Dorothy and her parents, Marjorie and Alvin Casner. This was in Kingman, Arizona. We spent many happy childhood days there going for long walks on the dessert.

After the War, Dorothy and her family, along with my mother and I, moved to Nyland Acres in California. I remember the days of little girls growing up, when we would stand next to each other and try to decide who was growing taller.
( she won that one).

As we attend this occasion to remember Dorothy, we see her casket and her mortal remains before us. I would like to suggest that we might want to look beyond, because that is where Dorothy is now. We know that she is with her Father in Heaven. We also know that our life's are just a small moment in God's Eternal Plan.

As we mourn today, we are not mourning for Dorothy but we are mourning for the loss we are going to have without her. As you've heard today, Dorothy was a major part of her family. That is what we will be mourning about. But this is really a happy occasion for her. Dorothy is with Heavenly Father and she is with other loved ones who are welcoming her into the kingdom. We know that she is there, feeling of our Heavenly Father's Spirit, and she's looking down at us with her sweet spirit and saying that everything is alright.

My testimony to you is that God lives. Jesus is the Christ and through His Atonement and resurrection we will all be resurrected and will have the opportunity to live with Heavenly Father. This is a blessing to each one of us and to our families. We are eternally grateful that we can live in the presence of God the Eternal Father and His Son Jesus Christ and be together as a family again in the eternities to come. The Lord has promised that Families Our Forever.
