Mrs. Whitlock was born in Augusta County on April 11, 1875 a daughter of the late James S. and Cynthia Depriest Leitch. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Fred Simonds, Bowling Green, Ohio, Mrs. William D. Paxton, Hyattsville, Md., Miss Evelyn T. Whitlock and Mrs. William C. Glover, both of Staunton; two sons, Boyd A. Whitlock, Roanoke, and Harold T. Whitlock, Washington, D.C., two sisters, Mrs. Celestine Kutsch, Hackensack, N. J., and Mrs. Robert S. Paxton, Washington, D.C., and a brother, Preston T. Leitch, Covington, 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Her husband Nicholas T. Whitlock died in 1947 and a son, James A. Whitlock, died in 1954.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in the East Chapel of the Hamrick home by the Rev. J. Lewis Gibbs, Rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
Pallbearers will be James W. Thacker, Lacy C. Fix, Henry S. Simmons, Elmer Thompson, Floyd Heizer, Leonard Schultz, Lynn Glover, Phillip Whitlock, and Harold T. Whitlock Jr.
Interment will be in Thornrose cemetery.
The body will remain at the Hamrick Funeral Home where the family will receive friends between 7:30 and 9 p.m. today.
