Ethel D. Newman
Mrs. Ethel D. NEWMAN, 87, R.R. 6, Rochester, died at 11 a.m. today in Woodlawn hospial. She had been ill several years.
Born July 12, 1885, in Fulton county, she was the daughter of Dora and Martha PURDY COOK. Her marriage was Feb. 15, 1905, in Fulton county to George H. NEWMAN. He died in 1935. She had resided in this area her entire life. She was a member of the First Baptist church.
Surviving are two sons, Ernest F. and Oren H. NEWMAN, both of Rochester; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded in death.
Final rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. The Rev. George T. KING will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The family has requested that memorials other than flowers be made to the charity of one's choice.
