Henry Frank Vavak was the son of Josef W. Vavak, and Sarah Jane White. Josef came to the U.S. as a boy of immigrant parents, Frantesek & Katrina Vavak, from Bohemia, they settled in Wayne Co, MO where all of the family remained. Josef was the oldest son, a sister named Mari, b. c1861 and she married Dr. Albert Alonzo Ward and had 7 children before she died Dec 23, 1907. Josef's younger brother, Frank Jr., b. about 1863, m. (1) Antonia Pessek, m. (2) Mary Masters, before he d. in 1945.
Henry Frank's mother, Sarah Jane White, was a d/o Rev. Wilson White and his wife Elizabeth who also had the surname of White, but they were not related.
Josef and Sarah m. in 1882, had 6 children before Josef d. in 1891.
Henry Frank married four times:
m. (1) Oct 15 1909, Dinkie Wiley, [1891-1915] (3 daus.) Evey Mae Vavak Hickey; Susie Belle Vavak Anderson and Martha "Naomi" Vavak Anderson Bradley.
m. (2) Jul 09 1916, Jane Hickey, [1881-1918]a widow with 3 sons, John, Jude and Wiley. Jane died 29 Oct 1918, having a set of twins in 1917, prematurely, they did not survive. She had one more son, Roy Franklin, but he was adopted by a couple named Pryor. He came to California to visit all of us in the early 1950's. Henry Frank, m. (3) Feb 19, 1920 to another widow, she had 4 children and she was my maternal grand-mother, Mary Lurany (Combs) Morgan, [1890-1948] and together they had 4 more children. A case of "yours, mine & ours." He m. another widow after my grandmother died, Mrs. Gladys Sampson, but there were no more children.

Note: The largest part of this information on the Vavaks was given to me by an aunt, who did a great deal of research on this family including trying to find their Vavak ancestors in Bohemia, in the 1970s, which she learned was defunked. No longer a country of that name. Miss Iva (Fredrick) married my uncle & became Mrs. Cecil F. Vavak, b. 1921 & d. 1996, interred at Fair Oaks Cemetery, Fair Oaks, Sacramento County, CA. We all called her by her nickname, (from grade school) "Freddie/Freddy." Dwc
