Mrs. Laura S. Ware died last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. M. Short. A daughter of Elam and Margaret Alexander, Scotch-Irish pioneers, she married Meletus B. Ware December 20, 1866. Her husband died in 1877, leaving her with 5 children whom she raised, two of them survive, Eph Ware and Mrs. Ada Short. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Mollie Hays and a large number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren. (Southeast Missourian Nov. 17, 1923)
